Giuseppe Barberi comes from Sicily, Italy. He studied at the University of Palermo where he obtained his Master Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology in 2021. During his thesis, he researched on the synthesis and characterization of new polymers and scaffolds for biomedical applications. 

In the same year he started a PhD in "Molecular and Biomolecular Sciences" with a focus on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Specifically, his research focuses on the development of new polymer biomaterials for the formulation of 3D printing inks.

Currently, he is conducting his work at the BioSmarTE Group as a visiting researcher.
