Ane Otaegui grew up in Irun, Spain. She did her bachelor’s in Chemistry in the University of the Basque Country in San Sebastian and finished it in 2021. In the same year, she started the applied chemistry and polymers master in the University of the Basque Country, and she specialized in polymers. For her bachelor’s and master’s thesis she is developing a mechanotransduction platform based on biocompatible block copolymers and magnetic nanoparticles in the Basque Centre for Macromolecular Design and Engineering in POLYMAT under the supervision of Dr. Sandra Camarero-Espinosa. During this period, she has gained experience in cell culture, polymer and nanoparticles synthesis and characterization of these.

 Ane’s research interests are in the field of biotechnology, tissue engineering, advanced materials with biomedical applications and cell interactions with different materials.
